Group 3 - Who we are

CHERISE ALLENDER

I知 Cherise Allender from Melbourne in Australia. I live in small country town called Riddells Creek. I am 15 years of age and my birthday is on the 2nd of October. I go to Mowbray College which is a pretty big school in Melton. I have an older sister and a younger brother who also go to Mowbray. I chose to come to Tiger Kloof, South Africa on exchange for the different experience and because it was such a great opportunity and something that not many people get the chance to do.

Mawana was a very different experience from what I am used to. Camping out in the middle of the bush with wild animals around is not something that you get to do everyday. The best part about Mawana was when we went in the jeeps and got to see all of the wildlife in the bush. Also when we got to see the Baobab tree, which was said to be around 5000 years old. We were also lucky enough to climb the tree and to sketch it. We also got the chance to sleep outside underneath the stars which I知 sure it was something ill never forget.

SHADE MAPHAGE

My name is Kaelo but my friends call me Shade. I am 15 year old girl who attends school at Tiger Kloof Educational Institution which is in the North West province in Vryburg. I am in grade 9 and it is my second year at Tiger Kloof. I have two big sisters and I am the youngest of them all. My hobbies are playing soccer, playing music and going to the shopping malls.

Mawana was a very nice place to be for a week. Mawana is in the middle of nowhere and we have all kinds of animals around us at night. I enjoyed everything about Mawana. We had to shower outside in the weather and wake up and made food for other people. The food was the best because we could help ourselves to anything. We went to the Baobab tree which has been standing for 5000 years. It was nice playing there. Friday night we went to sleep in the bush next to the river and we did some fishing except unfortunately nobody caught anything.

I知  Thabang  Mothelesi  From  vryburg, my   friends  call   me  thibang.I love  playing  tennis  and I want  to  become  an  actor.

Mawana was great, and I was scared the first   time   we got there. We arrived  at  dawn, they   gave  us  some  few  rules  and  that  was  that  for  that  night. The environment   we live in was  totally different  from   Mawana痴 environment. The  birds  are  singing, we  are  surrounded  by    wild  animals, there  is  no  electricity. I  loved  this  trip  so  much   because   I   got  to  discover   my  inner self   through  the  activities  we  did. The  food  was  also  great, my teachers  and  my  fellow  learners were  also  great. The game  that  I  enjoyed  was  moball. Lastly  I  thank  god  and  teachers  for  this  wonderful  opportunity.
